Bat Stamps Breakdown (2024)

When purchasing a bat you have to watch out for which stamps you need and which bats offer those stamps. You don't want to get that awesome new bat to the field only to find out it's not allowed because it has the incorrect association stamps.

So lets breakdown each available stamp and what they are used for.

Bat Stamps Breakdown (1)

This is the stamp you need to look for when you're looking to play in little league, PONY, Cal Ripkin, Babe Ruth, Dixie Youth, or AABC.

In 2018 this stamp replaced the BPF 1.15 mark which is no longer supported.

The change was made to make all the youth bats perform with a wood-like performance which is a lower performance threshold than anything before 2018. The USA association allows the use of full wood bats with our without the USA stamp though using a metal or composite bat tends to be lighter and more durable than wood.

Anderson Bat Company offers 2 models in its 2020 line that have the USABat stamp. Check out the CENTERFIRE and the ARSENAL.

The BBCOR stamp is what you need if you plan on playing baseball in high school and/or college.

BBCOR stands for Bat-Ball Coefficient of Restitution which measures the trampoline effect of the bat on a ball. The standard put on BBCOR bats makes them more comparable to wood bats when it comes to performance.

All BBCOR bats must be -3 swing weight and be 2-5/8th diameter.

Anderson Bat Company offers one amazing BBCOR certified baseball bat in our 2020 line. Check out the WIDOWMAKER.

Many fastpitch leagues require the ASA (Amateur Softball Association) stamp. To get the ASA stamp, fastpitch bats need to be tested and have the ball come off the bat no faster than 98 MPH.

They have now changed from ASA to USA Softball while also changing their stamp. Andersons 2021 line of fastpitch bats will have the new USA Softball stamp

Anderson Bat Company has 4 fastpitch bats with the ASA stamp in its 2020 bat line. Check out the ROCKETECH, ROCKETECH FLASH, SUPERNOVA, and the SUPERNOVA FLASH.

USSSA stands forUnited States Specialty Sports Association. If you are in a league or tournament that requires the USSSA approval then make sure to look out for this stamp. USSSA allows for higher performance than ASA so if you purchase a bat that is only USSSA approved and not ASA then that bat will be hotter in most cases.

Be aware that USSSA Fastpitch is getting a new stamp that will be on all our new 2021 models later this year.

Similar to the stamp for fastpitch bats, the USSSA slowpitch stamp is a popular one to have or need. Just like for fastpitch, USSSA allows for higher performance than ASA so a USSSA only stamp bat will typically be hotter than a bat with an ASA stamp.

USSSA slowpitch is also getting a new stamp which will be on our 2021 line later this year. The old stamp is being grandfathered in and will still be legal.

1 of the 3 USSSA stamps, this stamp is only for youth baseball. It appears on baseball bats similar to the USA stamp but it allows for hotter performance and the use of 2-5/8th diameter and 2-3/4th diameter bats.

USSSA Baseball is getting a new stamp as well which will be seen on 2021 line of bats. The old stamp will still be grandfathered in.

Anderson Bat Company doesn't offer any bats with the USSSA Baseball stamp but will be introducing multiple models in our 2021 line later this year. Keep a lookout!

Bat Stamps Breakdown (15)

This stamp is similar to the USSSA Slowpitch stamp but allows for a BPF of 1.21 rather than 1.20. So it can technically be slightly hotter.

Senior Softball allows bats that are stamped with a BPF of 1.21 or lower. That includes any bats with the Senior Softball stamp or the USSSA stamp since those are 1.20 BPF.

Anderson Bat Company doesn't offer Senior Softball only stamped bats currently but does have plenty of models with the USSSA BPF 1.20 stamp which would be legal for play.
