The Bucks are adding Delon Wright in free agency.
TheMilwaukee Buckshaveagreedto a one-year, $3.3 million minimum contract withDelon Wright, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Wright, 32, was a player theBucks pursued ahead of the trade deadline when he was still a member of the Washington Wizards. Ultimately, the team settled on a trade for Patrick Beverley, who was with the Philadelphia 76ers at the time, due to his smaller contract. The Wizards were seeking future second-round draft assets for Wright, who was on an expiring $8.2 million contract.
After failing to find a trade partner for the veteran point guard at the trade deadline, theWizards ended up buying Wright outof his contract, paving the way for him to sign with the Miami Heat for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. There, Wright played in 14 games and averaged 5.4 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 36.7 percent from three-point range.
The Bucks will become the ninth different organization that Wright has played for since being drafted 20th overall in 2015. Although he may not be the most athletic or explosive guard in the league, Wright has always provided stability and leadership wherever he has been. With the Bucks, the well-traveled guard will be a reliable option for head coach Doc Rivers behind All-Star Damian Lillard on the team’s depth chart.
A decision to sign Wright to a one-year contract likely signals that the Bucks will not be retaining Beverley, who is also a free agent this offseason. Beverley earned himself afour-game suspension after Milwaukee was eliminated from postseason contention after forcefully throwing a basketball multiple times at spectators and for his inappropriate interaction with a reporter during his postgame media availability.
Despite his defensive contributions, Beverley’s antics and upcoming suspension have seemed to result in the Bucks looking elsewhere for production.
Throughout the entirety of his career, Wright has always been a steady contributor in the backcourt. In a total of 508 games with nine different organizations, Wright has averaged 7.0 points, 3.1 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game. There is never a lot of talk centered around Wright and his play, yet the veteran always seems to find himself making an impact on his team’s chances of winning.
The Bucks are hopeful that Wright will be able to provide some much-needed depth in the backcourt alongside Lillard as they look to work their way back up to title-contention status.

Sports Fans Want Female ESPN Reporter To Permanently Replace Stephen A Smith After She Filled In For Him On ‘First Take’
Fans want Courtney Cronin to remain on as the host of ESPN’s ‘First Take’ following recent appearances on the show.
Cronin has been filling in for Stephen A Smith lately and has struck a chord with viewers as she has put her football knowledge on display.
While she’s unlikely to replace Smith, even if that’s what fans might want, there’s always the possibility of her having more time on the air, which should be satisfactory enough.

So Where Is Stephen A Smith?
Stephen A Smith is on vacation, but he is actively negotiating a new contract with The Worldwide Leader in Sports.
The outspoken analyst could be in line for a new four-year deal that would pay him up to $25 million a year and make him the company’s first $100 million television talent.
‘First Take’ his main gig, appears to be in great hands, and not just because Cronin is around now. Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe has become one of the network’s biggest draws, while the likes of Molly Qerim, Chris Russo, Ryan Clark, and Kendrick Perkins are all ESPN stars in their own right.
Still, whether Cronin sticks around after Stephen A. returns remains to be seen.

Caitlin Clark gets technical foul for striking Lynx player in face during Fever win
Caitlin Clark inched a little closer to a suspension thanks to a questionable technical foul call for striking an opposing player in the face during play.
The Fever rookie was pushing the ball up the court late in the third quarter, and Lynx wing Cecilia Zandalasini grabbed her right arm in an apparent attempt to slow her down after Clark dribbled behind the back on Sunday.

Clark responded by extending her arm and taking a short swipe in frustration, and she ended up making strong contact with Zandalasini’s face.
The former Iowa star looked annoyed by the foul as she walked away from Zandalasini.
Zandalasini was assessed a personal foul and Clark was given a technical once the referees chose to review the play after Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve had a few words with them about it.
It is Clark’s fourth technical this season, three away from the seven that would trigger a one-game suspension per league rules.
The Fever (11-16) went on to grab an impressive 81-74 win over the Lynx (16-8) at Target Center.

The win is Indiana’s third in their last four games.
