Welcome to the Norwich Training Centre! Our venue is conveniently located in the heart of Norwich, with a postcode of NR11PH.

Getting here is easy - simply head northeast on the Norwich Southern Bypass/A47 and merge onto A146 via the ramp to Norwich.

Follow A146 as it turns into Martineau Ln/A1054, then take the 2nd exit onto Bracondale/A147 at the roundabout.

From there, turn right onto King St/A147 and then right onto Carrow Rd/A147. Follow A147 and turn left onto Prince of Wales Rd, which will turn slightly left and become Rose Ln.   Run in partnership with British Red Cross and St Johns Ambulance, this 3-day course covers practical techniques and meets Health and Safety regulations.

  With over 5000 open courses available, this training enables participants to fulfill their responsibilities as first aiders and ensure a safe working environment for all.

  AGENDA

  Course Agenda - Treatment of an unconscious casualty, heart attacks, and resuscitation are some of the key topics covered in a First Aid At Work FAW training course. Participants will learn how to properly assess and provide first aid to someone who is unresponsive, as well as how to recognize and respond to a heart attack. The course will also cover the basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator AED.

  Shock, poisoning, and choking are other important areas that will be addressed in the FAW course. Participants will learn how to identify and treat shock, a life-threatening condition that can occur after a sudden illness or injury. They will also learn how to recognize and respond to different types of poisoning, as well as how to help someone who is choking.

  Bleeding, burns and scalds, fractures, and seizures are additional topics that will be covered in the FAW course. Participants will learn how to control bleeding, provide first aid for burns and scalds, and immobilize fractures. They will also learn how to recognize and respond to seizures, a common medical emergency that can be caused by a variety of factors.

  The FAW course will also cover asthma, severe allergic reactions, eye injuries, AED awareness, and major trauma recognition. Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to an asthma attack, how to administer first aid for severe allergic reactions, and how to assist someone with an eye injury. They will also learn about the importance of AEDs and how to recognize and respond to major trauma.   JOINING

  Joining Instructions - The First Aid At Work FAW training course typically lasts for three days. Prior to attending, candidates are required to have a basic understanding of English and be physically fit to participate in practical exercises. No prior first aid knowledge is necessary. Photo ID is not required, but candidates may be asked to provide identification for registration purposes.

  Candidates should wear comfortable clothing suitable for practical exercises, such as trousers or leggings and flat, closed-toe shoes. Loose or revealing clothing should be avoided. Depending on the training provider, candidates may be required to bring their own personal protective equipment PPE or it may be provided on the day. This may include gloves, aprons, and face masks.

  Candidates should be aware that the course may involve physical activities such as kneeling, bending, and lifting. If they have any health concerns, they should inform the training provider beforehand. It is also recommended to bring a notepad and pen for note-taking during the course. Lunch and refreshments are usually provided, but candidates may want to bring their own snacks.

  In case of any unforeseen circ*mstances, candidates should provide a contact number to the training provider. They should also arrive on time and inform the provider if they are running late. Any cancellations or rescheduling should be communicated as soon as possible. The course will involve both theory and practical assessments, so candidates should be prepared to participate fully and ask questions if needed.
